Bronze Sculpture

Bronze is an essential material for me. Its possibilities are endless.

For more than 20 years now I have been experimenting with bronze, making new discoveries with each piece, either through the movement, the colour, the space it creates or its inherent light and soul.

I almost always make several pieces at once, one nourishes the other, and gives an energy unique to each individual work. I create small series around a theme, whose geometry and patina are the springboard from which I draw my inspiration.

The patina is always a walk on a tightrope hoping not to fall off before reaching the other end,….then there is a moment when one forgets oneself and the piece takes over and becomes itself.

The pieces are unique and for the most part constructed and assembled from shaped and cut bronze or brass., All the patinas are created uniquely by myself,

LES DANSES DE LA PAIX

The series “Les Danses de la Paix” was created especially for the exhibition “La Paix” at La Bastide Rose in Le Thor, in Provence, where the Pierre Salinger museum is located. This exhibition refers to the signing of the Treaty of Versailles between France and Great Britain in 1783, which gave birth to the United States of America.

DE LA TERRE AU CIEL

“De la Terre au Ciel” was inspired by “Light Play”. My clients wanted a smaller piece intended for the interior of their home. It had to be free standing with all the elements rotating. I created the matrixes in wood and plaster. The moulds and waxes followed then to be cast in bronze.

Once cast and finished, it came back to my studio so that I could create the patina in the spirit desired by my clients.

PETITES ECHELLES DE JACOB

The wooden matrixes for “Les Petites Echelles de Jacob” were made at the same time as the matrixes for the major works “Echelles de Jacob – Les 4 saisons” in bronze. Today, “La petite Echelle de Jacob” can be made to order.
